Notes

using #1 Chigoo (I think) circs Magic Loop method
swatched with Course of True Love and got 33 sts/4 in

in the past I tend to lose 2 sts gauge in blocking, so the predicted blocked gauge is 31 sts/4 in

my foot circumference is 9 in (10% less is 8.1 in)
my foot length is 9.5 in (10% less is 8.55 in)
my leg circumference is 10.5 in (10% less is 9.45 in)

for the foot circumference I need 62 sts
for the leg circumference I need 73 sts

I could try to just have a nice stretchy edging and hope that’s enough to keep the leg up…I’ll stick with the foot circumference and see how it goes

I will use JSSCO for the cuff and use ribbed cuff (k1p1 rib); stockinette body; V Heel with Double-Decrease Toe

CO 62 sts
for the heel I started with the first black row, then Sl1, k2tog to get an even number of heel sts. To turn, I knit 15 sts instead of 16.
I will decrease gusset until I have 60 sts left.

for the toe I started with one row of the black before starting the decrease row

The instructions for the Double-Decrease Toe made zero sense when I tried to apply it to Magic Loop. I used Puppymancer’s instructions for the decrease rows:
on each needle: k1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1

I kept the same rate of decrease from the book’s instructions though:
decrease every other row until 36 sts, then every row until 8 sts are left, then kitchener shut.

It turned out looking like too shallow of a toe and it feels a bit tight on my foot pre-blocking. I hope the blocking will help, but if not it fits my sister’s foot!

It did block out bigger and it fits! In the future I could stand to add just a tad bit more length to the foot, but this one works fine. I’ll just have to watch my toenail length.

used 52 g of self striping and 19 g of heel/toe
