I may be slightly short on yardage for this, so I’ll need to watch what I’m doing with the edges

Using #7 bamboo circs

JSSCO and JSSBO (did not use different size needles for either - just stuck with #7 bamboo circs)

8/3 Well crap. I’m halfway through the pattern, but just over halfway through the yarn. I’m gonna have to short the edge a row or two. Once I get to the ribbed edging I’ll weigh the yarn again pre and post row to see how much one row takes. I may also want to throw on a lifeline and test out the bind off to see how much that takes too. For the record I’m currently 4 grams short of halfway through the ball of yarn.

In the end I came up 5 rows short on the ribbed edging, so one side has only half the edging. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me that much. Now it just has a top and bottom option depending on if I want more or less ribbing showing on top. For the record, I only needed 15 more grams to complete the cowl, so the yardage requirements stated in the pattern was DEAD ON.

• JSSBO used 5 grams
• each row used about 3 grams
• steam blocking didn’t look like it did much in the gauge swatch, but it was actually noticeable in the finished cowl, so trust the blocking instructions
