It looks like I’ll have enough leftover from Damsels, still waiting to see what I have left from Batteries (but I’m 95% sure I’ll be fine)
I should have plenty of Batteries!
Using #5 Addi circs and DPNs and #8 Addi circs and DPNs
Next time, leave a loooooong tail after BO the fan - to use for sewing fan onto hat.
Very easy knit, and went quicker than I had planned for (somewhere in my stitch calculations I must have added a row or 20).
Wet blocked by laying hat out and pinning the fan out separately from the hat. Had to upin the fan once it was dry and turn over the hat to dry the other side.
Somehow the slipped stitches on the sides of my fan ended up looking like they were turned toward the wrong side instead of the right side….maybe I slipped the sts wrong? I’ll pay closer attention to that next time I make this, it looks a tad bit sloppy this way.
The hat could stand to be a little less slouchy, it’s verging on baggy. Maybe just use a needle size smaller for the large needle next time and knit the hat section a half an inch shorter. I could also try using a drapey-er yarn? MCN, superwash, or higher silk content? Also, using a single-ply (like in the pattern photo) may help it look a bit more polished. The pattern is great, and I LOVE this yarn (see awesome shawls), but I’m not sure this pattern and this yarn were meant to be together.
I like the hat, but it’s not quite as fancy (not sure that’s the word I’m looking for?) as I thought it would be.
