Notes

On the surface a fairly easy pattern to follow until you get to the sleeves where the pattern is not clear at all and I think there are clear mistakes (I was using it from The Knitter magazine, not the Cotton Lustre book). The problem arises with the decreases. There is a 4 row pattern repeat that has decreases built into it. The pattern asks you to follow the pattern repeat then asks you to decrease on alternate rows. If you do this as well as incorporating the pattern decreases, you’ll be decreasing far too rapidly. If you just do the pattern increases, the numbers also don’t add up. In the end, I just counted the number of rows to decrease and looked at the total number of stitches you were supposed to have at the end and fudged it. It worked out okay but this is the kind of pattern that if I were a beginning knitter would put me right off.

I wanted a very loose, t-shirt type of top, so went up a size, but kept the yoke a bit more snug.
