This is my second shawl using this pattern. Notes & pattern edits/translations are as follows:

• there is a row 4 in “set-up” row, before you start “beginning/body of scarf”.

• Set up row translations:
Row 2: K2, P19, K2
Row 4: K2, P23, K2

• Even row translation:
Row 2 and all even rows: K2, P across until last 2 stitches, K2

• at the second repeat of rows 1-22, & third repeat of 1-12, the 11 stitches in the squared off brackets will be repeated as needed.

• there is a Row 22. It’s worked the same as all the other even rows

• Not sure why the designer says gauge is not important… IT IS!!! Knit too tight & this will be too small. Knit too loose & you will run out of yarn (as I did) before you finish all the rows. With 215 yards of Alpaca I made it thru row 12 of the lace border & bind off before running out of yarn.

Row 39: 107 stitches (Repeat Row 17)
Row 41: 111 stitches (Repeat Row 19)
Row 43: 115 stitches (Repeat Row 21)
Row 45: 119 stitches (Repeat Row 1)
Row 47: 123 stitches (Repeat Row 3)
Row 49: 127 stitches (Repeat Row 5)
Row 51: 131 stitches (Repeat Row 7)
Row 53: 135 stitches (Repeat Row 9)
Row 55: 139 stitches (Repeat Row 11)

Border (4 increases on every odd numbered row):

My final size after blocking: 47” across x 20” deep.
