Top down skull socks.. created as I knit using a mixture of patterns.

Patterns used:
Wise Hilda’s Basic Ribbed Sock by Kate Atherley/wisehilda
Jack Sparrow’s Favorite Socks by Pamela Northrup/trillian42
Hedwig & Friends by iknit2purl2

Yarns used:
Black
White
Red/Gray.Black multi

Started with Wise Hilda’s Basic Ribbed Sock.
Knitted 1 inch of black at the top.
Switched to the red & knitted 1/2 inch

For the next section I went up 1 needle size & used an adapted version of the chart from Jack Sparrow’s Favorite Socks. For my socks I had to turn the chart (made for toe up socks) upside down to make it work with my cuff down ones. Knit this section in black & white.

After charted black & white section, I knitted 1 more row in red. Then I switched back to the smaller needles & continued with the ribbing, following Wise Hilda’s Basic Ribbed Sock again. Switching to black yarn for the heel section.

When I got down to the toe section, I switched to black yarn & followed the instructions for decreases & grafting from the Hedwig & Friends sock pattern

The reason I knit the charted section in larger needles is that it would not have as much stretch as the ribbed section if I knit the entire sock with the same size needle.
