Getting gauge with DK & US#3 (3.25mm) needles.
Used much less yarn than I thought… About 575 yards.
Leaf Yoke came together beautifully. The chart with the dark green & gray colour combo was a bit hard on the eyes. I wish the green colour was much much lighter & not so close in tone to the gray. I used a sticky note as a guide to make it slightly easier to read.
Yoke shaping & short rows: not sure if I’m reading/doing correctly. If I “knit to 1 stitch past last marker” it puts the wrap & turns on the front panels… making the short rows fall not just across the back but also across the arms/shoulder area & into the front sections. Asked this question on the forum thread for this sweater… will see if anyone can enlighten me.
Designer got back to me… Wraps/turns are on the fronts as I am doing. Not sure how this adds extra height to the back since the short rows cover almost the entire sweater. But….. moving forward.
Raglan increases complete.
I believe the raglan increase section should read:
Repeat last two rows x(x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x) MORE times.
Sleeves divided from body. Working on body.
Body complete
Skipping over sleeves section & will do them last. This way I can try in the sweater as I go to get the sleeve length the right length.
Button bands complete.
I believe the Buttonhole Band All sizes section should read:
Rows 4 & 5: Repeat Row 2 & then Row 1
Neckline: worked in garter instead of reverse stockingknit, because I just like it better.
Working on sleeves.
Designer has ettera posted on the pattern page but has not changed it on the actual printed pattern.
Errata:
Under Sleeve section right after
you start the sleeves the Next Rnd should be as follows:
Next Rnd: K2 (1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 4, 4, 6), k2tog, knit to last 4 (4, 3, 5, 4, 4, 6, 6, 8) sts, ssk, k to end.
And the number for the repeats of the Dec Rnds and even Rnds should be as follows:
Dec Rnd: K1, k2tog, knit to last 2 sts, ssk. Repeat these 11 (9, 7, 6, 8, 6, 5, 5, 4) rnds 7 (9, 12, 14, 11, 14, 18, 20, 24) more times. 37 (37, 36, 37, 49, 49, 48, 49, 49) Sleeve sts. Work 3 (6, 7, 9, 3, 11, 7, 2, 8) rnds even.
Sleeve ribbing:
I wanted the ribbing centered on the leaf pattern (like it is on the bottom band). So I worked the ribbing as follows:
Rib: K2, P3, (K3, P3) around until 1 stitch remains, K1
Knitting complete.
Washed & blocked.
Just needs buttons.
I was correct, short rows really didn’t create much of a difference in neckline height from front to back.
Danya helped pick out the buttons.
Buttons sewn on.
Danya loves it!!
