I tried using a tie dye kit on fingering yarn. I picked Halloween colors, orange, purple, lime green, and black. I used all colors on one skein and only purple and black on the other.
I was hoping for brighter colors.

I knit a regular garter tab, top down triangular shawl in stocking stitch with the multi colored yarn. I used almost all that I had dyed. I then wanted to use the purple/black for a lace border. I used the lace charts from Garter Love shawl in Sock Yarn Shawls by Jen Lucas. I did modify it slightly by leaving off the garter stitches on the lace diamonds and using a CDD instead of SK2P.
I only did chart A and then did a crochet chain bind off because I just wasn’t enjoying the project.

Not as I envisioned the project. It’s OK but I will probably gift it to someone.
