I knit to about 16 inches from the cast on before starting the border with the third color (Cranberry).

A few notes:

• I always have to mirror my shawl projects that have a spine, so when knitting the row right before starting the border I did it as follows: k2, yo, k1, (* yo, k2tog * repeat til marker), yo, m1r, sm, kl, m1l, * yo, k2tog * til the last three stitches, yo, k1, yo, k2. This added an extra yarn over on each side.
• At last count I had ~435 stitches on the needles
• I-Cord Bind-Off was done on the RS instead of the WS (as stated in pattern directions). I continued to loosely carry the variegated yarn (Sweater Weather) up the side as I knit the garter border. The bind-off took ~18grams
