For the brim I cast on 18 stitches. Knit for 10 rows.
Row 11: cast on 1 stitch then knit all
Row 12: knit
Row 13 and 14: same as 11 and 12
Row 15: cast on 2 stitches then knit all
Row 16: knit
Rows 17 and 18: same as 15 and 16
Knit 4 rows
Decrease by 2 stitches, then knit 2 rows
Decrease by 2 stitches, then knit 2 rows
Decrease by 1 stitch, then knit 2 rows
Decrease by 1 stitch, then knit 2 rows

Back to 18 stitchs. Knit until the hat was 10 1/2 inches. Repeated the ear flaps. Knit another 10 rows and joined together.

Picked up the stitches and knit 4 rows grey
Purl 4 rows black
Repeated 2 more times.

K2tog, knit. k2tog, knit. k2tog, knit. BO
