Notes

Apart from the color modifications, I have done the following differently from the Drops instructions:

I have added short rows to lower back of the overall to allow more diaper room.

I have not cast off at the neck, to pickup stitches again for the hood. Instead, I continued knitting from neck and picked up about 7 stitches on each side of the neck-shape casted-off area in the first two garter stitch rows.

I have used the very handy increase/decrease calculator from The Knitting Fiend to increase and decrease from neck to hood garter rows.

I have used kitchener stitch to connect the hood top and to seam the underarms instead of casting off to avoid more seams.

I have first knit the hood and then knit the button bands together with the hood band and made the hood without the fold.

I used a grosgrain ribbon with forget-me-nots along the button band seam to make the result neater.

With my gauge with Cotton Merino on 3.5 mm needles: 22 sts/10 cm, the bust size is a bit more fitted, but I’m OK with that.

Overall, the project/pattern has been quite tedious, I have almost given up halfway through. But I feel like a lot of Drops patterns show room for simplification. After all, I am happy with the outcome, I hope it will fit the baby nicely. More pics to come when the baby is born - she is due in less than two weeks.
