1/5 So I finished knitting these today and sewed all 28 buttons on but no finished photos because I was not at home and had forgotten my camera : / My daughter promises to take pictures so hopefully I can post some soon!
1/1 Wow! This is definitely a labor of love, mostly because I am trying to finish them in two days as I will be seeing my daughter on Thurs. and want to give them to her then. One down (minus the buttons), one to go! (didn’t end up seeing her until Sun. so I had a little extra time!)

1/9 after much nagging I managed to get a couple of action shots of the finished mitts :0)

For some reason my stitch gauge was way off according to the pattern, but my row gauge was spot on…this is strange because the thumb turned out exactly where it was supposed to be which should not have happened if I was inches off as the pattern showed me to be. I did end up with over an inch and a half more than the pattern said I should have had on the longer edge of the mitt, but it worked out perfectly as it was exactly as much as I needed to wrap completely around and stitch in place (on the inside) along the line where stitches are picked up to do the lace panel, creating a complete tube. I also sewed the buttons on through both layers, and they were perfectly snug enough without being too tight to pull on. My daughter loved them!
