Notes

Started with a chain of thirty one. Single crocheted back across the tops of the chain, turn, and crochet across the bottom loops of the chain as well. Ch(ain) 2, h(alf)d(ouble)c(rochet) to halfway point (end of original chain), 2hdc in two end s(ingle) c(rochets), hdc across to last sc, 2 hdc in sc, join with s(lip)s(titch). Ch 3, d(ouble)c(rochet) around, join with ss. Repeat last row until bag reaches height you need. 2 rows of following: Ch 3 dc decrease (2tog), dc in next 10 dc repeat around (last stitches may not make full repeat, just continue 1 dc in each dc to end), join with ss. Next row: Ch 3 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc repeat around to create space for drawstring. Ch 3, dc in next dc, dc in ch1 repeat around, join with ss. Ch 2, hdc in each dc around, join with ss. Ch 1, sc in each hdc around, join with ss. Tie off.

To make drawstring: Ch enough to make a string long enough to go through the bag and leave two inches on each side, go back with slip stitch in each ch stitch. Tie off.

Feed drawstring through bag, over and under the bars made by the hdc. Tie ends together.
