Notes

Hello! I will be posting a formal pattern for a basic backpack soon, so you can make something similar to this if you’d like! :)

In the interim, here are a few brief notes:

I made the panels first-- they’re about 8.5x15 inches. Then, I made the garter strip in between and used mattress stitch to connect the panels to it. Then, added the drawstring bit by picking up stitches and knitting them in 2x2 ribbing, with a bit of yo/k2tog action so the string can go in and out. Straps are garter stitch knitted lengthwise-- the BO edge keeps them from stretching too much.

I’ve also added a flap, but haven’t managed to get pictures yet. I’ve been using the backpack for school, so it may be too lumpy for a new photo session, but hopefully I’ll have another sample knitted up eventually. :) Hope you like!

Message me for slightly more elaborated (but still brief!) notes on construction. Again, a pattern (could be more like a recipe) should be up soon.
