First time knitting with beads.
My beads are way too large but I want this project to be flashy ;)
Purling instead of knitting. To get the centered double decreases I used this method: http://fleeglesblog.blogspot.pt/2009/06/purl-decreases-de...
Cast on 132 st (it was a mistake, not intended).
Mod: since the beads are so large, I’m adding them only on the yo rows. Also, I’m moving the design only one st every second row instead of 2st; that will result in a different lace pattern.
Since the beginning and end are curling up (too much stockinette st), I’m going to sew them inwards using the purl ridge as a guide.

I think it needs a more structured stitch, this stockinette is boring. Maybe I’ll frog it and make it in a seed stitch.

Frogged it after I realised I was using a second batch of beads that weren’t exactly the same shade. This gives me the opportunity to “redesign” it (always look on the bright side…).
There are going to be oblique columns of seed st. Not sure with what interval yet. Maybe some traveling stitches in between? Although that might take the elasticity needed to put the cowl over the head…. so I must be very careful with this.

Mods: first 3 rows in seed stitch so it won’t curl. cast on 131 st. Knitting in reverse stockinete. Adding diagonal travelling stitches, every 19th st.

I don’t like how it rolls up on both ends (I know, stockinette). Since I made it narrow it becomes even narrower! I’m going to have to fix this. Maybe I’ll pick up the stitches and do a ribbed hem? But not now, I’m in the middle of something.
