Notes

Okay - this is almost nothing like the original pattern. :) I used this as a starting point since I originally planned on doing the hoodie. I changed to a smaller-gauge so I used a US7 and CO 120 sts. I then did stockinette for 8 rows, making the color-change row a seed-stitch (taken from the idea in the Tulips/Rocketry Cardigans). I did 19 bands of color and CO. I then added the suggested broken rib edging (so perfect for the seed-stitch texturing here) and did that in the darker pink for one inch. I did do a hood, but ended up not using it because it looked too busy with the stripes on it. I finished the blanket off with a cool bind-off called the “decrease bind-off.” This is one I’ve never used but it was perfect for this edging. The edging does not curl up as it appears to in the pics. I love it! It will be the perfect stroller/crib blanket for my friend Mary’s baby-on-the-way, Sierra. Can’t wait to meet her! :)
