8/26/12 - Time to start the first adventure of knitting a bag…but… wait what in the bloody hell is this provisional cast on?! Okay so after a few tries and really eyeballing how in the hell this thing is going to be the gauge I swatched, I finally have things casted on and moving, slowly. I’m not used to working flat on circulars, so we’ll see how long this takes me. Right now the pattern is super simple and seems to go pretty quick.
9/15/12 - Putting this project on hold. Need to get some things made up for the farmer’s market ASAP
10/8/12 - Picking this up off and on. I just checked my the first set of repeating squares and I’m a few inches short, so I’m adding an additional square to both sides to lengthen it out.
10/14/12 - Added an additional square and finished the first side. Starting the stockinette bottom.
10/17/12 - 25 rows = 3 inches, added another 11 rows to complete the 4 inch bottom required per pattern. Starting on the second side of repeating pattern.
11/4/12 - Finished the body portion with 2 full skeins and the start of a third. Skipping the I-cords for now and diving straight into the gussets.
11/11/12 - Finished one gusset and attached it to the bag with a single crochet. Not really sure how I feel about the look, maybe a blanket stitch would have looked better but it’s done now.
11/25/12 - Finished the second gusset and assembly. Decided on leather straps so I only have one i-cord to knit up.
12/11/13 - Finally picked this up again after buying some cabones. I went with the braided i-cord straps but I’m not entirely happy with them. Maybe I’ll get around to buying leather ones when I line this thing.
