Notes

Note to self: use 4.5 mm needle next time. Adding an upside-down duck band, so the blanket can be reversed.

July 31 - Cast on 135 stitches. Using 5 for edge (same colour as stripes) and 20 between the duck patterns. Half-way through the upside-down duck band. I’m weaving in the ends as I go, as Comfort is so anxious to separate.

Also making the stripes 6 rows instead of 4. After weaving all the duck ends in, I’m not going to weave every 4 rows. With wool, I would carry the yarn across part of the new row, but Comfort needs more weaving.

Sept. 11 - finished knitting. Now the fiddly task of beaks and embroidery and weaving in the rest of the endless ends. I wonder - if I did 4-row stripes, could I carry the yarn up the side without too much bulk? Have to try that next time.

Had a hard time with the french knot eyes pulling through, so I did some straight x-stitch instead.

I had nearly a whole skein of green left, plus close to a whole skein of white.
