Notes

This colourway reminds me of the Tiger Tail (black licorice and orange) ice cream we can only find at the cottage in Ontario.

Using the smaller needle for tighter gauge and more durability. Note - I don’t like this size 0 ChiaGoo needle, as it is very sharp and hurts my finger, and tends to split the yarn. May be a problem with the small size of the needle. I will use the size 1 (2.25 mm) from now on.

Anneke picked out the yarn. Foot measured and cut out per Fish Lips Kiss Heel technique. Anneke’s foot cut-out is 3 inches wide compared to mine, which is 4 inches, so approx. 3/4 of the stitch count.

Cast on 9 stitches each needle with figure-8 cast-on, then increase to 25.
After 15 rounds post toe, decrease one stitch at the beginning of each needle to end with 24 each needle.

  • 62 rows, then FLKH.
  • 38 rows after complete heel, then 12 rows rib
  • JSSBO

Gauge is 8 stitches and 11 rows to the inch

51 grams for socks, 68 grams leftover.

I was going to use this pattern here but I had knit too far to start the increases, so back to the tried-and-true Fish Lips Kiss Heel.

Yarn Note: this is heavier fingering. Equivalent to 368 yards to 100 grams.
