Lace! Pockets! DK/Worsted! Optional buttons! What’s not to love about this pattern?

Since finishing it, I have been wearing it constantly.

Project Notes:

• Start sleeve cap shaping on row 21 of the chart.
• 4 stitches less for back - 88
• Last row before sleeve splits was row 14.
• Buttonholes on every row 15 after the sleeve split.
• Start increases on row 5.
• I didn’t do the icord bind-off for the sleeve cuffs (already finished that part when the discussion came up) but that is a great idea.

I followed the pattern exactly, and added the buttonholes, then went back and forth about buttons, hooks and eyes or nothing but a shawl pin. After Revi posted her FO here, I decided my fear of large buttons ruining the look was totally unfounded. I closed up the top buttonhole, and added the bottom 4 buttons. I’ll probably wear it with the bottom button or 2 undone.

Sleeve: 72 grams used. 10 rows after last decrease, start cuff.

Note - the only think I would change if I knit this again would be to loosen up the icord edge, particularly around the neck. I would slip the purl rows, per the pattern, but every 4th or 6th row I would just purl, so it doesn’t pull as much. I might do every 4th around the collar, then every 6th down the fronts. I don’t think it will be too loose and buckle, but it would give a little more ease in the icord.
