What a lovely pattern - cables and lace - what more could you ask for? And this is my favorite sleeve construction.

Planned Mods:

• bust darts
• pockets
• CC for inside collar
• 10 buttons
• considered icord and zipper for front, but with the light grey contrast, I like the thought of silver buttons better than the icord/zipper version.

Started off with M, then increased to L sleeves (2 stitches more) and after sleeve split, cast on 10, with 2 extra stitches going to front, as with the icord and zipper there will be less width added vs. a buttonband.

Pockets: start 8 inches down from underarm. The front pocket flap includes the lace and cable section and 18 garter stitches, and the pick-up from the back only includes the garter stitches, which makes the pocket opening a bit awkwardly too close to the sides, but I didn’t want to have the pockets behind the lace part, so that’s the trade-off. 4 inches long. The back and pocket-back section includes the hip increases. Small pockets, but subtle and they don’t detract from the design.

Collar: after 2.5 inches of MC rib, knit 3 rows of CC (starting at the RS). This creates the bump at the top of the fold. Continue with the rib pattern. 3 needle bind-off at the end, with stitches picked up from the base of the collar.

Sleeves - 54 held. Pick up extra and decrease on round 1 to 62. Follow pattern after that for M (need one more decrease) to end with 46 stitches. After 100 rounds, switch to 4 mm needle and CC. 18 rows MC ribbing after 3 rows CC.

Yarn: start 106 grams Astrid Grey - 64 left. 42 grams of 5th skein of Gilliat left.

Project Gauge: 18 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch
