OMG - why am I casting on something new? Because I can’t resist - that’s why. This is SO DARN CUTE!
Update - now that it’s finished, you can see that I’ve had my OhLaLa out at the beach and in the snow. In fact, I’m wearing it to work right now!
- classic colour combo.
- c/o for 34 for my narrow shoulders, then rest of directions for 38. 177 stitches for body.
- carrying yarn up the sides - twisting every 2 rows.
- added 8 rows before increases as I’m long-waisted.
- had to do another row before bottom rib due to colour change.
- 95 stitches picked up for buttonband.
- no collar button.
- sleeves - decrease every 10 - 12 times to end with 44. After row 121 start ribbing for 9 rows.
Note on yarn requirements:
- needed another 20 yards of a third skein of Colour A for second butttonband (thank you Yelena for sending me the rest of your Tart, and thank you Maggy for the back-up).
- finished first skein of Colour B at row 70 of first sleeve, and had to break into third skein for the last 8 rows of sleeve ribbing.
Note on yarn - my tart bled a bit and the antler picked it up. It didn’t look like it was bleeding, so I didn’t use a colour catcher sheet. I may soak again, although the discolouration is faint. How to prevent this? I supposed I could have washed my red and black first before knitting with them.
Update on the bleeding. With a second soaking all the Antler became discoloured, so I used a Carbona Color Run Remover packet (from my local large grocery store) and the red came right out.
Pattern Gauge: 19.5 stitches and 27 rows = 4 inches on 4.0 mm.
