Notes

modeled pic shows why I don’t wear hats! This will go to my daughter/granddaughter who will also be at the march.

I am going to my first protest/demonstration/march. Totally excited. My intent in attending is to show solidarity for women, minorities, LGBTQ people, muslims, and any other group that feels attacked or marginalized.

50 grams to start

Followed mods from Aliciamarin for this yarn:

Mods:
Knit in the round: CO 96 sts on US 7 and join in the round.

Knit 4¼ of ribbing. Keep same needles. Next round, knit 47 sts, P1, place marker, knit to 1 stitch before beginning of round marker, P1.

Remainder of hat: * knit until 1 stitch before marker, P1, slip marker * ; repeat between * * .

Knit until hat measures approx. 8 3/4 inches (I ran out of yarn so mine was only 7 3/4 inches; turn hat inside out and do 3 needle bind off. I had to use other yarn for part of the bind-off as I ran out!

I added the 2 ear stitches from the kitkat hat pattern.

This took a couple of days, only because I was knitting other stuff. Then it took 4 days to figure out how to place the ear stitch.
