I liked the pattern, and the cables remind me of boating/nautical knots - the ones you tie, not the speed

Mods:
Ribbed the bottom and started the cable at the st st point, rather than starting the cable from the beginning.

Knit the size 6 width, and closer to the size 8 length for my skinny tall boy. While I was perfectly on gauge, I had to really block it carefully to get it to the size 6 measurements (unblocked it was at 24” chest, I barely got it to a 26” blocked). However, the size 8 was a huge jump in stitch count, so I would guess that it would be much baggier. If I knit it again I would do the body stitch count based on my own measurements rather than off the pattern.

I also did not do the ribbed collar, rather I continued the cable up the yoke to where the collar seemed right and bound off. Then picked up and knit a crewneck collar.
