Project for MadMay
Making this for a new grandaughter due in early August. Looks like a sweet old fashioned sweater. I’ve been wanting to make this for a while. Perfect timing for pattern, yarn, and Mad May.
Fun fact. If my daughter’s daughter has curly hair she will be the 6th generation of the firstborn child being a female with curly hair. Would be kinda cool. But it’s totally ok if she’s a straight head. :) Shes a straight head. But curls when shes hot. So what do we have? Waves maybe?
P.S. That’s me taking charge in my grandfather’s office when I was a little curly headed whipper snapper. Clearly the love of red shoes started early.

Pattern printed. Yarn wound. Doing swatch tonight. Can’t wait to start project for Mad May tomorrow after work. :)
(3.5mm hook makes a nice fabric, but I have no idea what size sweater this will be)

Jeezoo. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked with such tiny yarn. Growing very slowly. But I like it. Fabric feels good, stitches look nice, and the color is lovely.

Separated for sleeves last night plus a half a row or so. Might be my most accurate picture of the color so far after over a week of constant rain here in Delaware! All my pictures have been at night or on dreary days. Small break in the clouds this morning before more rain today. Hopefully the rain ends tomorrow.

Row 16 of the body. This is really cute, and coming along well. Easy enough to watch tv, or chat with hubby, and crochet for sure. I’m going to make this a few rows longer in body and arm length as mommy and dady are tall, so baby might be too. (Unless she’s short like her grandmothers!)

Finished the edging. I like the picots, very sweet, but I didn’t do them around the neck… it seemed like they might be irritating there.
I found some buttons in the stash that will work nicely. Did a 6ch to make a button thingy. Need to weave in ends, give it a swish, lightly block and its all done.
