Finished and its so darling! Sarah thought they would get more use out of a short sleeve vest type sweater for River. So short sleeves it is. It was a good choice.

Mods:
Sleeves: On the second round of dc’s I alternated 4dc in ch space and 3 dc in ch space so sleeve wouldn’t be so puffy. Since I wasn’t going to be making long sleeves I didn’t think it would be needed.

Button loops: I made several (ch3 slst1) loops around the button loops to turn them into little flowers. They turned out cute. :)

Size 3-4 fits my tall thin 2yr old granddaughter with a bit of wiggle room to grow. Definitely glad I made a size up.

For River. Started on the car trip home from Norfolk.

Could not get gauge no matter the hook size. Best I got was with 4.5mm hook which got me a square 4” wide but only 3” tall. Meaning I just need to add length? I dunno…?

So I’m winging it. River is a size 2, so I’m making the 3-4 size hoping it’s at least too big and not too small.

4.5 hook. Cut short the color changes at bottom… as I was afraid to be left w one dark arm and one light arm.

A year later and it still fits. :)
