Using 2 special skeins of fingering yarn. One dyed by a friend, one a gift from a friend…who are longtime friends of each other.

I’m getting my hands used to Norwegian Purling as taught by Arne and Carlos.

Note to self: 7 rows of 2x2 rib to begin.

Need to block it.

Quick and enjoyable knit.

Right now very squishy and it fits like a bulky loose turtleneck. Adding a selfie and another picture pre-blocked…will take more after blocking. I can see wearing it this way with no problems at all, but I want to see what it looks like blocked as well of course. :)

I can totally see making many of these for gifts.

Note to self: 10 rows of 2x2 ribbing for final rows, wanted it a little bolder there, and I didn’t quite get 10” when I did my last pattern repeat.

Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off is always a wonder to behold.

Blocked overnight. Aggressively. What a difference. And I have to say, I like it both ways. Possibly a lil softer after blocking and using a wool wash, but I definitely would wear this cowl in the preblocked style as well.

Showing Purl side and Knit sides.

And… what’s with this crapeiness shit on my neck? I’m not old enough for that yet am I? Maybe I will be making MANY more cowls, and not just for gifts.
