Just. Wow. The written directions and row by row picture tutorial made this square a lot easier than I had anticipated. Lots of opportunities to play with color…but great texture shows even in a solid color square. A most excellent and enjoyable pattern and I will make it again in multiple colors I am sure.

Done as per pattern thru row 11.

Row 12 is front and back post dc to get to just under 9” as needed for the afghan this is made for and to add extra texture.
NOTE: As an extra explanation on my last row…all 4 corners are not the same (opposite corners do match). In row 11 the designer says this round works best with an odd number and to skip a certain stitch. Of COURSE I listened cuz she’s the designer (a really good one!) and knows best. :) In hindsight, making round 11 an even number might hv made my fpdc and bpdc have matching corners. In a square with color changes it might make more impact, but it I find it barely noticeable on this solid square, so I left it as is. Just thought you might want to know in case you decide to do a fpdc/bpdc treatment on row 12 of your 9” square. :)
