I used 5mm needles and size small to make this. I should have reduced the amount of stitches cast on as I knew it would probably come out bigger because of using larger than recommended needles. Although it still wearable and has been keeping me snug.
Eta: I’m glad it’s bigger now as it doesn’t smush down my curls, and I’ve been wearing it alot!

I knitted less rounds than suggested as I didn’t want a very slouchy hat. The only feature of the pattern that I’m not crazy about is the crown finish. Its a bit bulky and I think I’d prefer a smoother finish.
All in all, it’s an easy to follow pattern and a great way to use up odds of leftover yarn. Each of these aran weight yarns were leftover from two previous knits.
