Notes

I had to redo this about four times.. But in the end it was SOOOOOOOO worth it. :) I wanted to try it with the size 8 thread that is so abundant here in the Philippines… Thankfully Cannon sells white and natural colors in cones. I used less than one. I think I can still make a small doily from the thread left.

This pattern is easy to follow… What made it difficult was the trial(s)-and-error(s) method I had to go through to get what I want.

The first try, I followed the pattern for size L with a 6/0 hook. Wayyy too big.

Then I tried again… Size L with 5/0 hook. Almost finished the tunic part when I stopped lying to myself and admitted that it was still too big.

Size M with 5/0 hook. Looking good… Until the increases after the underarms (I think this is the main problem with this garment). If you follow the pattern, it would work just fine as a maternity garment. But not for me…

So i frog back to the chain for the underarm… And did the stitches after every 2 chains (instead of skipping just one chain), ending up with one less pattern repeat per underarm. So that’s two less repeats for the rest of the tunic.

I love love love love love it. The pictures just do not do it justice. This tunic drapes so nicely and swings with your every movement.
