2/19/11 - OK, now I’m happy. It actually fits really well. I think if I were to make another, I’d add a little bustline short row shaping so it didn’t ride up in the front. The neckline seems ok now that I got used to it. I pinched it at the base a little to help it lie flat rather than the overlap in the instructions. The pattern is great, but DDD does complicate things sometimes! Better photos soon.
2/16/11 - Finished the sewing including a very tedious neckline install. The fit and style is fabulous -except maybe that neckline. I am going to see how it looks with proper undergarments and coordinating pants etc., but it seems as though I liked it better when I tried it on before I put the beaded neck in. The sewing of the neck made it less stretchy and therefore doesn’t flow like the rest of it. For now, it is done however. Photos soon.
2/15/11 - Sewing it all up now, keeping my fingers crossed on the fit. I found some beads on my recent trip to WEBS - 8/o in “dyed dark rose s/l alabaster”. They weren’t my first choice, but now that they’re knitted in they look nice. I think the neck trim took longer than the sleeves! It was a lot of beading.
I saw the sample of this sweater at the CT fiber fest back in May of ‘10 and tried it on. It was super nice, and very fitted. I loved it, and bought the yarn and pattern that day. Now I am finally going to knit it! Yeah!
