Feb 9/13 - I wish there was a chart and a separate list of abbreviations. Blurg. It’s taken me two hours to knit four rows of the back.
Feb 10/13 - It’s taken me some doing, but I think I have figured it out. Somewhat. I’ve also noticed a boatload of errors, so I’m probably better without the pattern. :) Now my only issue is I need a LOT of light to see the stitches. This is why I don’t knit with dark colours. But, dang it, I love this kid, and if she wants a super dark, complex cabled sweater, she’s going to get it.
Mar 3/13 - The back is done. Starting on the front of the sweater.
Mar 29/13 - The front is done. Started the cuffs of the sleeves. Knitting both at the same time. Decided to do the sides in reverse stockinette instead of plain stockinette.
Apr 20/13 - Seaming it up.
OVERALL - the written instructions have much to be desired. I pretty much knit this using my intuition. All that being said, it is a beautiful classic fishermen-style sweater. My teenager LOVES it. And so do I.
