MARY MAXIM LOTS OF LOVE ENSEMBLES TO KNIT (1)

I started the 3pc blue set from the Twinkle Trio for 5” Berenguer dolls. I hadn’t knitted in some time, so couldn’t find my accessories, and ended up using metal jumper rings for markers and a stretched out large paperclip for a stitch holder. I used the twinkle yarn from Mary Maxim that these patterns call for, and I do like the yarn, but it splits easily and I’m always having to stop knitting and fix the last stitch that I caught the yarn and it split when I did it.

The pattern called for size 2 needles, but it seems to me that it is too big, and the 1 needles would have worked better for me, with my tension. I got the sweater part done, but just need to finish off the ends and add buttons. I might try the 1 needles on the hat, and then decide which to use on the leggins. I bought a kit a walmart today that had needle point protectors and stitch holders and a stitch markers and row counter. The sweater is done, but I still need to sew the sleeve seam and add buttons and hide all ends. I hope it looks better when done! I’m working on the hat now and it actually called for the 1 needle for the hat.

I finished the hat this morning, and now I have to decide if I will make the leggins or booties, because the sweater came out so long, the leggins are not as visible. If I just make the booties, I will need to make a diaper though, probably with the bathing suit bottom from the same book.

Coat & leggins seemed way too large while knitting them, but fit perfectly, after all! I feel relief that I FINALLY made one of these patterns. After years of never getting to it. And it went really fast, too. It’s a shame I waited so long!
