Did not swatch…
Antler-Wisp-Silver Fox-Aura
02/09/2015-So I got on the train this morning and although I had to stand I was in one of the little connecting areas which means I had a wall to lean against…so I figured I could manage to cast on while standing. Another miracle? I somehow pulled the perfect amount of yarn for my long tail cast on and was left with about a 7” tail! Not short, not ridiculously long, just perfect! I am hoping this is a really good sign for this sweater. Made it through the set up rows and the first increase row on my commute into work, hoping I can get to the spot where I connect in the round on my way back home!
….made it to the join!
02/10/2015-Raglan increases done! Going to knit to an armhole depth right around 8 inches since that seems to work best for me so I am hoping I can get that completed and maybe start on waist decreases tomorrow. Planning to move the beginning of the reverse stockinette feature lower so that it doesn’t cut right over my boob…
02/16/2015-did 3 decreases before beginning the reverse stockinette feature. Gave intarsia in the round a shot…I really think there might be an easier way that what I did but it turned out pretty well for my first time and I think the unevenness at the W&T can be blocked out. I’m already at the hip increases!
SO MANY PICTURES because I absolutely LOVE the result! The last photo shows an up close shot of the area where there were short rows to accomplish intarsia in the round. I think I could have done a better job but I am really not upset with how it turned out. I was going to do a funnel type neck kind of like Ease instead of the hood (because I know I just won’t use a hood) but after looking at my progress photos I really liked the open neckline so just did about 4 or 5 rows of ribbing instead.
A note about the yarn- Tosh DK is definitely not as soft as DK Twist and definitely does not have that “sproing” quality however I really think it ended up being the perfect pairing of pattern and yarn here. I like the crispness of it and if it wears well I will be REALLY happy.
Knitted Bliss loved my mods!

Thank you all for the sweater love! Lot’s of people have asked for more info about how I did the stripes. To be honest I just read a lot of blogs and watched a lot of videos about intarsia in the round and then just went for it! I do think this is a really good tutorial here and hope it will be helpful for you too!
