Notes

I met Debbie Bliss when she was here in Vancouver giving a talk, and I got to try on a sample of this project. I went to my LYS the next morning to buy the yarn for it, and who was there but Debbie herself. I could not decide between three colours, so Debbie chose this one for me! How cool is that. She is extremely down to earth and very personable.

Needed one more ball from what pattern called for. Also, needed to go down 0.5 mm to get gauge.

March 2008: This pattern starts off with the cable band (at the waist). Sts are picked up from the bottom to knit the skirt portion, then picked up from the top to knit the bodice section. Over the past year I have noticed that it seems like the weight of the skirt has pulled on these latter sts (picked up for the bodice). I just crocheted a row of slip stitch inside along the upper edge of the cable band to add a little more strength. I feel a lot better when wearing it now, I was a little worried all my hard work was going to fall apart. Also, the double moss st has somewhat flattened when I’m sitting (driving, at the computer, etc) so I’m careful to flip it up so I’m not on it when seated!

It has also started to pill…I love wearing it so much it’s beginning to show. This is a gorgeous sweater, it turned out so well.
