Hook: Hamanaka 6/0
Yarn: 2 shades of mystery yellow acrylic - light yellow & gold

I used a size E hook because it was what I had in my bag, but this might have been easier with an F.

I was asked to add some yellow to a blue & white scarf that came in for the Marathon Scarf Project. Inspired by RockportMo’s daffodil pin, I decided to make a daffodil and sew it onto the scarf. Wasn’t sure where on the scarf to put it when I was done so I just grabbed a safety pin and made it a pin, that way the recipient can move it if they don’t like the location.

Started with a magic ring instead of ch 12.

Each petal needs a little over 3 yards.

Didn’t want too many ends to sew in so I started crocheting from the middle of a strand then started the 2nd petal by chaining through the bottom of the first (see photo).

Didn’t leave a long enough tail to attach the petals. Need longer tail next time - maybe a 1.5 feet.

Oops, just looked at the pattern again and realized I skipped the sc border. Oh well. I also did not follow the petal joining directions. I joined them somewhat haphazardly in the round.
