It is impossible to beat how cute this cardigan is.

I’m using leftover Charles (from Canon Hand Dyes) for the edgings and pocket linings to stretch the yardage a bit.

When I checked the yarn for colorfastness (to machine wash and dry), the black lost some color, so I did a citric acid soak, which revealed that the red wasn’t entirely colorfast either.

Two disclosures: (1) we have extremely hard water, which is unforgiving to color that isn’t 100% set in stone. (2) The dyer says on the label, hand wash, cold. It was fine in warm water with wool wash; warm water with detergent caused the problem.

Other changes:

• Lengthening the sleeves by 1”
