I love peaches. They’re sweet, they come in all sorts of sizes, and that first, delicious bite is what marks the beginning of summer.

You know what else is sweet? Democracy. Elected officials who serve the interests of their constituents.

So here’s a sweet peach hat; make one to wear to a march. Make a whole bushel of them in fingering weight and donate them to the NICU.

Pattern in progress:

Purl the first stitch of the round (to make the cleft, knit remaining stitches in round, (working in this pattern) until hat measures 8” (don’t flatten the rolled brim).

Stem:
Slide remaining 6 sts to a DPN. Switch to brown, work I cord for about 1”.
Leaves:
Use just leaves pattern. Work rows 1-5 once, then straight section for 5 inches. EXCEPT: slip the first stitch and purl the last stitch for a nice looking edge.
