04/16/2015 - Whoa. My gauge is usually spot-on, but I must be knitting super tight with lace because on a US 4 needle, which is what’s called for in the pattern, I ended up with 24 sts/4 inches (gauge is 22 sts/4 inches). Time to re-swatch with a US 5.

04/18/2015 - Yay, stitch gauge on US 5 is 22 sts/4 inches.

04/28/2015 - Starting yarn ball weight: 104.1 g

05/07/2015 - Finished Clue 1. Yarn ball weight is now 88.0 g, so I used 16.1 g. That’s right on the hairy edge of the maximum amount of yarn I should use for Clue 1 before I risk being out of yarn for the whole project (15.4 g - 16.4 g, according to the important info page). I did catch myself knitting a little more loosely than normal, so I’ll have to watch that. Of course, I can’t change it up too drastically, now, else the parts won’t match! The first piece measures approximately 12” W x 15” L at the widest points.

05/22/2015 - Finished Clue 2. Yarn ball weight is now 72.5 g, so I used 15.5 g, so slightly less than Clue 1. Chatter in the forum indicates that 72 grams is plenty for the rest of the project, so I’m doing well with yarn usage.

05/28/2015 - Finished Clue 3. Yarn ball weight is now 59.2 g, so I used 13.3 g.

06/03/2015 - Finished the first part of Clue 4. Yarn ball weight is now 50.8 g, so I used 8.4 g. I have one more kite for Clue 4 and 2 connectors in Clue 5, which should take approximately 28 g of yarn, so I should have plenty of yarn, left.

06/15/2015 - Finished the second part of Clue 4, another kite. Yarn ball weight is now 34.6 g, so I used 16.2 g. That’s in line with the other kites.

06/18/2015 - Finished the connector of Clue 5. Yarn ball weight is now 21.3 g, so I used 13.3 g. That’s exactly how much I used for the first connector. One more part to go!

06/23/2014 - Finished and blocked! I have 12.7 grams of yarn left. :3
