Notes

Cast on - Instead of a provisional cast on, I used a Turkish cast on, starting with 20 stitches, ten on each needle. I then increased two stitches on each side, every other row until I reached the 32 stitches on each side.

Gusset and heel - After reading other comments on this pattern and doing math, I could tell that as written it was going to make my sock way too long. I instead only increased to 8 stitches on each side of the marker, giving me 54 stitches on that side. I then decreased 16 stitches between the markers, using the wrap and turn method, until I was actively working with 22 stitches. I picked up my stitches along with the wraps, then ssk or p2tog until the heel was completed with 38 stitches.

To make knee highs I would periodically try on the socks. I did increases where needed. To do increases I would increase one side (front or back) at a time, 4 stitches. I would increase these stitches in the same spot where the k1fb is in the pattern rows. In total I increased 16 stitches on each sock. Then in the 2x2 ribbing at the top I decreased 8 stitches on the back side to grip onto my upper calf.
