11shawls2011 #8

This will be a non lace shawl in DK weight with some cables ;-)) It took me a loooong time to find the right yarn for this pattern. I have tried everything suitable in my stash and ordered yarn twice for this project. I think I finally have a winner :-)) Love this yarn. My first time working with Malabrigo DK.

07.10.11 Some pics of the shawl. It coming along nicely. If you follow my projects, I think you can recognize the pattern from this recent project. ;-)) I am totally obsessed with this stitch pattern at the moment. I had to make a shawl with it ;-))) I will make a blog post a little later about the different yarns I have tried before deciding on this one :-))
There is going to be a pattern :-)). I am working on the pattern while I knit my shawl :-))

Blogged about the yarn selection for this project.

07.17.11. The shawl is done and i am very happy with the way the stitch pattern opened up to have almost lace like effect.

The pattern is now available on Ravelry :-))

The wonderful test knitters are:

Blogged about shawl here

11.25.11 I am doing “Wear a Shawl Challenge” on my Blog and took some new pictures of my shawl for that purpose.

Name of the shawl comes from one of my favorite song “Fly me to the moon”:

I heard this song in the movie “Once Around” and love it ever since :-)) You have to wait till the middle of the clip to hear Danny Aiello sing the song :-))

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you by Frank Sinatra by Julie London
Thank you for this link Melinda ;-))))
