Knitting instructions:

gauge:34 sts x 46rows after blocking on US1
To fit head circumference of 56 cm
Knitted in the round.
CO 180 sts
Knit in 2x2 rib for 5 cm
Knit in st. st for 12.5-13 cm
Shape the crown as follows:
(K1, k2tog, K25, ssk)x6.
Continue decreasing in every other round until 18 sts left.
Break off yarn and thread it through the 18 sts.
Hat is meant to be worn on the reverse st st side. Can be worn as a beanie, with the rim folded, or as a slouchy hat.

My daughter Maya is going to be starting her freshman year at Princeton (located in a very cold New Jersey!) this coming fall and I am on the mission to knit her lots of winter accessories. She really does not have many since you do not need them here in San Diego. :-)
