Still swatching yarn and hook sizes to get fabric/drape I want.
2017-09-04
Decided on 8mm hook with yarn held double
18.7g of the blue (colorway tag lost)
Last row of blue was 14 stars, making 56 stars in total.
56stars/18.7g = 2.99stars/g

63g is blue plus green. Subtracting 18.7 of blue leaves
44.3g of green
Last row of green was 28 stars, making 210 stars in total.
210stars/63g = 3.33stars/g

Finished third section (Del ray Yellow).
130.3g is all three colors.
70.3g yellow = 130.3g (total) - 63g (green&blue)
Each section is 7 rows of stars (2 rows of pattern == 1 row of stars).
21 rows of stars == 21*22 stars = 462 stars.
462stars / 130.3g = 3.55stars/g

Finished the fourth section (Bolton Hill Orange).
92.8g of orange
Total weight 223.1g
28 rows of stars = 28*29 stars = 812stars
812stars / 223.1g = 3.64stars/g

Finished the fifth section (Station North Red)
132.6g of red (yes, 1.16 skeins, so close and yet…)
Total weight 355.7g
35 rows of stars = 35*36 stars = 1260 stars
1260stars / 355.7g = 3.54stars/g

FInished the sixth section (Truxton Station Purple)
164.3g of purple
Total weight 520.0g
42 rows of stars = 42*43 stars = 1806 stars
1806stars / 520.0g = 3.47stars/g

Washed, blocked, photographed: Done!
The first skein of Truxton Circle (purple, and the largest section) did bleed in the gentle machine rinse (I used vinegar in the wash and that water ran clear, but the rinse water did not). The partial second skein retained it’s rich color. Since the richer color was on the border, I think it works OK as a border element.
The machine wash really stretched out the fabric. It went from a 5.5 foot wingspan to 6.5 foot wingspan.
It was too big to block and beside it was already opened up, so I draped it over two parallel clothes lines to dry.
