Sept 26
Finalmente ho un’idea di come usare Clouds by Moonrover.. uno scialle con dei bellissimi bottoni in ceramica comprata da pina sementa così posso farlo diventare poncho, wrap, etc
speriamo bene! (continuo in inglese.. scusate!!)
Sept. 27
the yarn turned out to be a real problem - a corespun with much too much twist which caused the knitted fabric to bias ( see discussion on Yarn board )
If anyone has problems with corespun that has too much twist causing a biased knit piece here are some hints which I posted in the above topic
in the end this is essentially what I did
went up a needle size, worked in the backs of the stitches reversing the way I usually throw the yarn over the needle - it still biased.. so get this ..
I am unwinding about 1 yard at a time from the ball - putting a rubber band around the ball and holding the yarn so that the ball can “unwind” - when the yarn no longer twists on itself, or twists only slightly, I knit up that piece - it seems to be working although it is slow going!! at least we are only talking about 190 yds of a novelty yarn that I am working into a project as one panel
so essentially the first 6 inches or so has a slight bias, the rest doesn’t
I guess I could have ripped it all out and “detwisted” all of the yarn… but I really try not to rip out if I can avoid it
anyway - as you can see the piece worked up quite lovely - love the colours and the clouds!
Sept. 29
I am using beautiful colours mostly in misina to replicate the progression of colours in reverse and when I reach the brown I will repeat the progression through to midnight blue and then continue until I reach the length I want.. we shall see how it comes out!
will post pattern when the shawl is completed!
