I have issues with my hat, most of which are undoubtedly the acrylic yarn I used. The yarn is a fingering weight cone yarn for weaving, and has little structure or springiness.

The hat doesn’t want to stay folded at the halfway point. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: halfway through the ribbing section work a single round of purl or make a yo, k2tog around to form a fold line.

The inner layer wants to make a bunch that shows when the hat is worn. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: use a more structured yarn with wool in it.
