12 yo rows. Start increasing for gusset. Increase 16 st (8 each side) working heel on last increase round.

Keeping yo as established, begin decreasing gusset 8 stitches (4 each side) then start ribbing (Open work rib stitch: Super Stitches Knitting, p 86) on the remaining 4 stitches. Increase 1 set each side of first rib on the first round of the repeat while decreasing the yo pattern on top of foot.
