For an experienced crocheter, this is an easy pattern. However, the format and the way it is written may be a bit confusing to someone new to the art.

I thought it turned out too wide (but of course I realized, after I made it I messed up on the part where you are supposed to put the cross stitch into the one from the opposite side-you can see that in the pic-DOH!) so I made another one, doing that correctly, then omitting the last round of hdcs and found that to be just right, except for the fact that it is too narrow over the ears, which is the whole point of warming your head if you ask me. So, to fix that dilemma I decided to hdc in the first 6 chains after doing the ch 12 and then go to sc, continuing in that manner for every time I got to those narrow sides and it turned out perfect! :)

The page that this pattern is on though is all jpg images of the pattern which I find highly annoying, but well worth it in the end as I love it!
