Notes

FINALLY figured it out. I’m putting the links that helped me figure it out below…The following are my notes regarding this little project. Photo coming soon. :)

I can’t figure this thing out. Call me stupid, call me pathetic but I’ve wasted an hour and a half of my life that I will never get back. I considered pushing it aside and never looking at it again…but then I’d be a failure. ahem…no failure for me. So I’m going to stomp away and be mad for a while then come back and see if I can figure the dumb thing out.

Ok, after looking at this video:

I have been able to figure it out. phew. I highly recommend it if you are attempting this. I was getting confused at the do not turn? you go BACKWARDS! NO WAY! Mind blown. FUN STUFF!!!

And THEN when you think FINALLY! ALMOST DONE! you realize you don’t know what a reverse sc is so MORE research is needed. This is turning into quite the project. DOH! Here is a video for THAT. Oh, and my auntie holds her hook this way…drives me batty!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eO0z30HHTU

Since I don’t knit, I had ZERO knitting needles to use to hold up my loops so I used a rubber scraper that had a handle that looked like it might work. It did! :) I wasn’t about to buy a knitting needle since I took the solemn vow to NEVER EVER KNIT. I KNOW it is a vow I will break…it is just a matter of WHEN I will break it. Not today boys and girls…not today. :)

I rated it difficult because if you have zero knowledge of this technique this pattern will NOT help you figure it out. It takes some enormous assumptions and we all know what that means…and stress on the ME part. ;) I also think this pattern is written in a way that you must have previous experience in reading patterns.

My second hat (the grey one) I made with the middle choice of 36. It was too long for my head, so I just did one round of sc and then reverse sc for the edging, and it looks cute folded up. :)
