Notes

I love the clever ease of this pattern. It would be perfect for someone just starting out on cables, it isn’t too complex at all-but it LOOKS complex-BONUS! :) I’m usually not a fan of picking up stitches but that part wasn’t too complicated in this pattern-one stitch per stitch. NICE. My only complaint is that the gauge is a lot tighter than I am used to, but that is a personal problem that I encounter frequently and in no way is a pattern flaw.

To obtain gauge: 3.5 mm needles…I’m also knitting far tighter than I usually do. I’m finding it tough to knit so tightly while doing the cables, so the going is a bit slow. I love love how this little rib band is coming along though-quite lovely!

Band: Ok, so I’ve been knitting very tightly as that was how I had to to obtain gauge, but the band is way way way too small according to the dimensions…I’m frogging it all and restarting. Seems a little more on track.

My gauge for repeats with tight tension: .83 cm per repetition. Loosened up a bit 1.5 cm per repetition, much closer to pattern. phew! :)

Finished the stockinette portion and have begun the first five rounds of decrease section.

Time so far: 8.5 hrs (2 of which were spent on the frogged part) so really this took me 6.5 hours.
