tips: All the little pieces are confusing-so either label them (put them in little baggies with a note of what pieces they are) or just sew up the sections as you go. I didn’t realize I was supposed to sew the arms and sew the body and then sew the arms to the body (totally forgot this pattern called for the velcro stuff so they’d be removable-which I didn’t want to do anyhow)-I sewed them into the body as I went-not too bad-but not like everyone else’s (which I like better)…but I was working on that part in the car and didn’t have Ravelry available to me to look at…

For the sewing of the body pieces-think of them like little origami boxes sort of…you fold the little seams together to make edges…I have no idea why that confuszzeled me, but it did. haha!

You know a pattern is good when it includes a ‘Gut Pouch.“ This is just the head I still have yet to make the rest of the body and outfit-I have spent a good deal of time on his little details…I hand painted his eyeball-nail polish on a glass bead, needle felted his other eye and mouth, and sewn on some beads for teeth. Ya’ll better get crackin’ if you want your own zombie friends for the start of Fear The Walking Dead!

8-14-15: So I’ve gotten to the lower body section. I am not seeing any issues with the pattern at all..I know some said it is vague, but so far I haven’t had any questions at all…pretty straight forward. Lots of little pieces, but this is so brilliant…OMG GUT POUCH!!! It does not get better than a gut pouch…

legs start feet first!!! took me a few minutes to figure that out!

8-16-15: Got most of the knitting done in our mini road trip this weekend…Assembly gave me a bit of an issue as I was really confused as to what I was doing, but I fudged it and am really happy so far. :) Working on his clothes. :)

I used pipe cleaners in the arms and legs so he could be poseable.

8-17-15: So ds sent me a text…with only the word “WHY?” and the second photo from the top. bahahaha! He was completely unaware of what I was working on..and lord help me but I don’t remember sitting him up in my favorite knitting spot, I am sure I did it because it is something I’d do-I just must have done it completely without thinking. The third pic shows my darling hubby driving us home…completely unamused by my latest project.

I feel the star rating and difficulty needs a bit of clarification. I would normally give this a four star rating because the assembly of the items gave me quite a bit of trauma. A few little pictures and/or extra wording would have made all the difference…BUUUTTTTT this is such an imaginative pattern, as well as amazing details (gut pouch people!!!!) that it gets an extra star for that-a less creative pattern would be easier to write after all-and who wants boring??!! Not me! :) The actual knit part of the pattern is pretty darn straight forward-I had zero issues following it (even if at times I didn’t see how it would work-I soldiered on and it worked). So I gave it a tougher difficulty just because of the assembly as well as that confusion at the leg part. I would have preferred more of the pieces to be worked in the round-but I really like how it turned out so I’m not complaining a bit. A superb pattern in my book!

Update: The recipient loves his new doll! It was a complete coincidence that he happened to match the stupid thing when his gramma surprised him with a dbird original! OMG even his socks matched! bahahaha! Perfect toy for a perfect kid!
